Description
Immediately upon his arrival in Costa Verde, Peter Reynolds, an American
correspondent, is plunged into the midst of a violent revolution. Dictator,
Miguel Villalonga as well as the rebels, seek the support of a Catholic priest,
a man of god, who wields power over the Indian peons. While Padre Pio is being
held hostage in the mountains by a band of guerrillas, the dictator is scouring
the land for the priest. But "old gods" residing in the great volcano of
Zopocomapetl decide to settle the conflict themselves, erupting in anger and
pouring their fury upon rulers and rebels alike.
